Marholm Parish Council Meeting minutes of the meeting held on 13 March 2025 in the village hall

Minutes of the last meeting held on 16 January were amended as there was an error in addition in finances. This was corrected and the minutes signed as now a true record of the meeting
Still not actioned. No reply from last email so will chase again. SW
Extra bin on Woodcroft Road
This can’t be put in place until 30 mph moved. It was suggested that therefore we ask the council to put it on the green next to Marholm Farm SW
No news. The franchise will not take place until 2027. Michelle will continue to attend any meetings going forward
New Issues:
Parish Clerk- since Priya resigned as Clerk we have been trying to find a replacement. The chair has been doing the job in the meantime but not willing to continue. Yvonne from the village has stepped forward as a volunteer and we will be having a handover next week. Thank you Yvonne.
Planning Applications -none
The issue was raised about 2 applications out of our area but may impact on the village.
1.The proposed Muslim burial site between Sutton and Alysworth. We will put the link on our website where you can make any comments during the consultation period.
2. Great Kyne is in the latest Peterborough Local Plan. When the consultation is open we will put the link on our website. Protect Rural Peterborough will hold a meeting soon. Some of this council will attend and report back.
VE signs– the council have agreed to buy signs to put on the lampposts around the village.
State of the cattlegrid and style in Church Meadow– reported to Milton who have it in hand
Walking Group– now set up and had its first event which was very successful
Speedwatch – regular events take place and we always catch people speeding in the village. If you would like to volunteer please contact the council
Drug Dealing in the churchyard- this has become a problem again. It is always reported to the police. If you see anything please report to Michelle who is our Neighbourhood watch rep. We will ask for another Police Surgery MP
Damage to War Memorial- part of the new stones put on the memorial has broken off. We are going back to the stonemason to ask for advice SW

We will research to see if we can find a bank account that doesn’t have service charges SW
Litter picking- our DoE girls are doing a great job of keeping our village clean. The area further up Hurn Road is out of their area but currently has lots of rubbish. So we will do a litter pick just in that area on 22 March
Welcome to the Village– we decided to create a note to give to new residents in the village with important information about what goes on in the village etc. SW
Next meeting will be the Annual Village Meeting on 15 May.
